1st Palestinian Birthing Centr-Jordan River Valley
This clinic is a good place for a birthing center
Families, including moms, babies, and children, are being treated at the Al Aqaba clinic -- we want to expand that clinic to include ultrasound and heart monitoring equipment -- and an ambulance with incubator.
Here's the existing medical clinic
The British Consulate paid for the construction of this wonderful 2 room clinic, staffed on a part-time basis by a doctor and a nurse. Our proposal will upgrade the clinic to become a birthing center. Though it looks small, what is now the largest hospital in Afghanistan started with a 2 room clinic!
Our kindergarten: regional hub for moms, children
Al Aqaba is a great location for a birthing center! Our kindergarten serves 130 students and many moms join them in Al Aqaba, working upstairs at the Women's Sewing Cooperative.
The Kindergarten we helped Al Aqaba build
The Rebuilding Alliance built this project in 2004 with a small grant from a family foundation, and then the help of thousands of people. We continue to advocate to keep the kindergarten and village standing, pursuing legal action and diplomatic assistance to overcome demolition orders.
