Students of Success Foundation will build classrooms and libraries for low-income students in southeast Ghana, supplement tuition and teacher salaries, and promote strong language and literacy programs.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Many impoverished families in Ghana, often single mothers, cannot afford to send their children to reputable schools, if they attend at all. The resulting illiteracy and lack of education limits future employment options and prolongs the cycle of poverty. Students of Success Foundation partners with schools in the Aflao community to lower tuition, raise the quality of academic programs, and work to end this cycle.
How will this project solve this problem?
Students of Success Foundation subsidizes tuition, teacher salaries and scholarship programs to lower the cost of education for families and create stable employment. School staff are given the resources and training to operate academic programs that emphasize language and literacy skills both in and out of the classroom. We help schools create a safe physical environment stocked with books, desks and other supplies that will be conducive to learning and development.
Potential Long Term Impact
Students of Success Foundation already serves over 300 students, with the potential to reach many more in the immediate area. Providing children with a quality education allows them to have expanded professional opportunities in the future and break the cycle of poverty.
