Summary
To use theater, humor, and group activities in order to boost awareness about alternative ways to face daily problems.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Mexican society has traditionally been conservative and authoritarian but is now becoming more democratic. Our ideas on education and improving family relations through games, exercises and group activities are very welcome. We consider human growth to be as important as professional growth and believe that this approach will not only help achieve better results but also help people reach an egalitarian and democratic conscience. Beneficiaries: children, teachers, artists, parents.
How will this project solve this problem?
*Show regarding tolerance and the importance of being friendly
*2 books on how to use drama and theatrical to promote reading, writing and group work in school
*6 workshops for teachers and artists and community groups who want to use games
Potential Long Term Impact
We hope children who see our shows can identify with the characters; that they will understand their feelings are shared by many others; and that their problems do have solutions. We hope the shows will incite discussion long after they are over.
Project Message
“As a man working to create theater for children, through this project, I wish to develop shows and books to make children, teachers and parents more sensitive about conflicts and daily matters.”
