Football Season Approaching August 15th

Thank you for donating to the Wolfpack Club, known officially as the NC State Student Aid Association.  The money that you contribute is used to fund the scholarship bill at NC State for student-athletes.  Over 500 current students benefit from your generosity and thousands of Wolfpack fans from all over share in your belief of our University.

It is an exciting time for NC State athletics as our Football program is gearing up for another season and students prepare to head back to campus in just a few short weeks.

Football tickets are scheduled to be mailed out the second week of August and basketball ticket applications will go out around that same time, with an order due date of September 15th.  Our giving year and billing cycle runs through December 31st.  Again, we appreciate your support of the Wolfpack Club and NC State Athletics.

Football Stadium Upgrades

Over the last several years, many needs have been identified and addressed at Carter-Finley Stadium.  The football team needed a home at the stadium that combined locker rooms, team meeting rooms, academic study areas, dining, strength & conditioning, and coaches’ offices.  These needs were addressed by the Wendell H. Murphy Football Center.

The fans needed additional seating areas with arm rests, cup holders, and chairbacks.  Fans also needed a better way to see replays and live action.  Amenity seating areas, such as club seats and suites, were also identified as areas of need.  These items were addressed through the building of the North and South Endzone seating, the three large scoreboards that were added to the stadium, and through the building of Vaughn Towers.

Upgraded practice facilities were also added to the Carter-Finley grounds during the stadium renovations in the early 2000’s through the construction of three Dail Practice Fields.

The next step in the improvement of our football facilities is the construction of an Indoor Practice Facility.  This facility will enhance the team’s ability to train in inclement weather and continue to improve, through rain, sleet, or snow.  This facility will also reaffirm NC State’s commitment to becoming a successful football program.

The Indoor Facility will complement the three current practice fields by providing an indoor component to the outdoor fields that are currently used daily during practice.

New Indoor Practice Facility

Update On The Indoor Practice Facility

This facility, to be constructed in the Stadium Southeast Parking Lot, will provide Football, Track & Field, and many of our other sports, an area to train year round when inclement weather would otherwise prevent them from doing so.  Thunderstorms in August and snow storms in February will no longer prevent our teams from practicing.

Recruiting will also be positively impacted because it shows prospective student-athletes that NC State is committed to providing the best possible training venues in the country.  This commitment is clear when you look at the Murphy Football Center and the Dail Practice Fields, and will be demonstrated again with the Indoor Practice Facility.

Fundraising for this facility is currently underway and will be a major part of the Championship Commitment Campaign, as we move to a public launch in 2016.

Your Membership Matters

Thank you for your support of NC State in 2013.  Your generous giving will help us provide scholarships and improve facilities for over 500 student-athletes who represent our university.   Furthermore, these students receive both the benefits of an NC State education and the lessons learned from practicing and competing in college athletics.  None of this would be possible without the support of donors like you.

As we move forward in 2014, we want all of our donors to remember that your Membership Matters. Your Membership Matters to our student-athletes and to our coaches. Everyone involved in Wolfpack Athletics benefits directly from the contributions our members make each year. Without your membership, our student-athletes would not have first class facilities, equipment, or tremendous support in the stands at every game.

Throughout 2014, we challenge you to define how your Membership Matters.  Attend an away sporting event, bring a friend to your local Coaches Caravan, sign up a new member in the Wolfpack Club, etc.  With all of us pulling together and making our membership count, the sky is the limit for NC State Athletics.    We are proud to have members like you in our Wolfpack Club family, giving our student-athletes the opportunity to be successful at the highest level, on and off the playing field. Every Membership Matters and every donor’s contribution makes an impact in the lives of NC State student athletes.

We feel that it is our job at the Wolfpack Club to serve as a connection between the student-athletes, coaches, staff and the many donors who support their activities.  With that in mind, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you or improve your experience with NC State Athletics.  Enclosed is your 2014 membership packet, including your membership card and auto decals.

Thank you again for your generous support.  We hope the upcoming year of NC State Athletics provides you with much excitement and pride.
