MAP International is contiuing to provide antibiotics to The Congo. Without a significant increase in donations on global giving we have not yet been able to send another shipment of antibiotics from this campaign. Updates will follow.
Half the world’s population lacks regular access to quality, essential medicines. In the poorest communities, private non-governmental aid organizations and church-based initiatives provide a critical component of the health system. These agencies manage complex field programs including hospitals, clinics and community health programs. They often lack the time or expertise to procure the lowest-cost, highest-quality medicines & supplies from global sources. That is where MAP International steps in -- providing, from a single source, a combination of essential supply chain & logistics services required to maximize humanitarian impact practically anywhere on earth, including rural and urban settings and U.N-defined complex humanitarian emergencies. For many agencies, providing these essential products and services themselves cost-effectively is often impossible. MAP International can partner with them to make it happen.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, in part though Global Giving – MAP International was able to provide a container with 250,000 treatments of life saving antibiotics and other essential medicines to our partner, the International Medical Corps to be distributed in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in early 2013.
Without support from donors, through Global Giving - this shipment would not have been made possible. We are so grateful and hope that you will continue in helping us provide health and hope to a world in need.
How do you think MAP can reach more people with essential medicines? Are there any specific countries you would like to see medicines being distributed by MAP? MAP would love to engage our donors in our projects, if you have any questions or thoughts please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (404)492-6585.
