Search for Common Ground will support a group of Angolan youth leaders from different sides of the conflict to work together in leading their community toward peace and reconciliation.
During the war in Angola, youth were in the center of the conflict acting as ideologues and soldiers. In order to secure the new peace in the country, youth need to have a significant role. This project supports youth leaders to come together from across political and ethnic lines to carve out a space for them to be at the forefront of the peace process.
This project will help young people who have been enemies to overcome their differences. Through a series of workshops and a leadership development program, SFCG will help youth identify their common issues and create projects of their own.
A youth organization will form and create activities for its community, designed to promote reconciliation – such as soccer tournaments or employment trainings. Youth that were once polarized will gain skills to work together for a common future.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
