Teaching in Action 2010 just around the corner!

2009 Teaching in Action Participants

Dear AfricAid friends,

Thank you so much for your support of AfricAid’s teacher training program, Teaching in Action! Your contribution has played an important role in allowing us to plan for the 2010 Teaching in Action workshop, scheduled to take place in June and July of this year.

Two weeks ago, heads of schools from the northern part of Tanzania gathered with our AfricAid Country Director in preparation for this year’s workshop. They expressed appreciation for being included and a commitment to supporting their teachers as they work to implement student-centered learning techniques in their classrooms. We couldn’t be more excited to have such a dynamic group of educators on board this year – who are committed to creating school-wide change!

Please take a moment to watch our video about the 2009 Teaching in Action workshop. If you feel comfortable, we would love for you to help us spread the word about what we are doing for thousands of Tanzanian students – opening up learning possibilities where there were very few before! If you can send the link to our project profile or video to others you believe would be interested in learning about our work, we would be very appreciative as we work toward Teaching in Action 2010!

With much appreciation, Ashley Shuyler
