Summary
This project will allow hundreds of American students to learn about the joys & challenges of life in Africa, and will give them the tools needed to undertake service projects both locally & globally.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
AfricAid is dedicated to the belief that we in the United States have an increasing responsibility to help build a culture of service learning and activities among the youth of America. This program encourages both individual and group involvement in our community and in our world, and helps teach children the value and satisfaction that comes from developing lifelong habits of serving, giving, & caring. This program will serve hundreds of American students, and thousands of Tanzanian students.
How will this project solve this problem?
This project will provide the curriculum materials needed (books, videos, & literature) to implement global service learning in classrooms across the US. American students will learn the value of reaching out to their peers around the world.
Potential Long Term Impact
Hundreds of American students will develop lifelong habits of serving, giving, & caring. Through service projects undertaken by US schools, thousands of Tanzanian students will be provided with educational opportunities they wouldn't otherwise receiv
