This project will lead to sustained advocacy and social mobilization for 8000 TB affected poor rural persons, by engaging stakeholders in order to meet TB case detection, and adherence to treatment.
In Mubende TB case detection stand at 37% far below national target, treatment adherence is still a big challenge. Interventions are not moving as fast as would be expected. There is low utilization of TB services. Health workers seldom discuss TB with patients. (National TB and Leprosy programme 2005).Health care providers generally display negative attitudes to TB patients. This project will to engage stakeholders in bringing about political, behavioural and societal change with respect to TB.
Through Advocacy, policy makers, public and private health professionals, traditional and religious leaders, community leaders, patients and their families in bringing about political, behavioural and societal change with respect to TB
