Drought Resistant Crops

Map of DROUGHT RESISTANT CROPS One day, i made a visit to Eastern province that was Kitui. I found that the marginal lands had been left untouched . As you know marginal lands refer to areas which experience semi-arid conditions. Such areas have pronounced drought with little and unreliable rainfall. These lands have high potential for agriculture. However due to insufficient rainfall the major economic activities are pastrolism and tourism. There for i urged them to plant drought resistant crops to curb with the problem of drought. Read more.

Fake Farm

Map of Fake farm Images of hungry kenyans after drought hit part of Turkana last year still linger. Their plight could partly be blamed on climate change . But that farmers cannot continue planting because of problems related to seeds and fertilizers is a shame. A group of farmer in the north rift where the bulk of the county's grain is grown. Where the fertilizers were found, especially in Kitale dealers forced them to buy seeds as well. Cases of fake farm inputs being sold to farmers have been reported in Nakuru, Molo and Kuresoi. The unscrupulous dealers at a cheaper price as well. Read more.

TO DEVELOPMENT My wife is the secretary of Tumaini Self Help Group in Kakamega Central district.She joined it in 2009 and was immediately elected un opposed as its secretary a post in which she has served very well.They mind the less fortunate people in society like orphans and widows and in order to achieve this they carry out income generating activities that lift the members' standard of living and empower them economically.Each member has realized an amount of development through specific benefits that have changed their lives drastically.My wife has been such a boost to the family as a result. Let's Think Before We Do

Map of LET'S THINK BEFORE WE DO A white man called Mayer died few years ago and left his large plantation to his son Johnson. Johnson sold part of the plantation to an Indian who has turned it into a bore land. The Indian cleared off every tree and bushes and built large irrigation machines which irrigate water from a nearly stream. Large generators which pump the water from the streem have led to lowering of the water level hence people in that community can’t get enough water. Cleanliness of all indigenous trees has caused the area to look arid and rainfall is not likely to be experience. This has brought complete change to the community and also suffering. Read more.

Farm Funding

Map of FARM FUNDING Due to the unreliable climate conditions in this country and mostly Suba district. This has led to the famine and starvation of families thus also loss of life due to hunger. the poor state of the families in the region has led to the unbearable state of life for the families. The embassy of Netherlands launched a program to fund farmers who were innovative and wanted to take farming to the next level this has led to improved food productivity. Read more.
