Summary

Designed to have a measurable impact two major hospitals in Afghanistan; one at Camp Dwyer, another a Nato Role 3, Multinational Medical Unit. Goal; bringing Christmas joy to our wounded warriors.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Under Nato guidance, all seriously wounded troops are expected to arrive at a trauma center within 60 minutes of their unit's calling for help. Soldiers often arrive with only the clothes on their backs and those are frequently cut away leaving the soldier with nothing to wear and away from his or her unit. These hospitals also have local Afghans as their patients who have no other access to emergency health care in their area.

How will this project solve this problem?

We will be sending t-shirts, underclothes, socks & sweatshirts along with military phone cards, portable DVD players, movies, healthy snacks and other hygiene items frequently requested by our troops. We'll send school supplies for the local children

Potential Long Term Impact

Many of our wounded soldiers will be receiving letters and pictures from home along with care packages and gifts for Christmas. This will bring real meaning to our project, A Red, White and Blue Christmas. We'll also send letters from local students.

Project Message

It's a very awesome and I really do mean AWESOME thing that you all do for us while we are over here. Each and every day, we at the Role 3 hospital receive many wounded soldiers by medivac.
