Determination Pays

By a female, 22-30 years old, in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of DETERMINATION PAYS My mother had a desire to own a school where children in the community could get an education at an affordable fee.she borrowed a loan to buy a plot to build the school.we the family members were surprised when she told us together with my father that she had found a plot,we went to see it to find out it was a dump site.though me and my brothers we were disappointed as we thought it was going to be difficult transforming the place into a school,my parents were hopeful. after several months of removing dirt from the area,my mother still faced the challenge of people throwing the garbage at the area. But with her determination she was able to convince them not to dirtify the place. currently she has been able to build a school at the place and the fees are the most affordable in the area.she has also been able to source funds from other organisations that have assisted in building the toilets for the children, donating water tanks for storing water, donating text books for the children, painting the childrens desks as well as donating desks to the school without her determination, the school could not be where it is now.
