Educate 160 Colombian orphans and conflict victims

Silivia Liliana is a 12-year-old girl currently attending the 5th grade. Her family does not have enough revenue to ensure her school attendance, but thanks to the resources collected through Global Giving, Silvia has been able to continue her studies and count on the support to overcome the difficulties and emotional damage that resulted from the situation in which she and her family live in.

The story of Silvia’s family is only one of the hundreds that roam Colombia. Her family comes from the eastern part of the country however, in 2004, the terror of the guerilla forced them to be displaced to Santander. Nowadays the family is leaving behind this chapter of their lives and has been looking forward to what the future will bring.

Thanks to donations received, the project has assisted around 160 children that, because of their vulnerable economic and social conditions, cannot access quality education and care. The children beneficiaries of the program have received formal education; they engage in recreational activities, have access to a cafeteria and take advantage of participatory spaces and courses for the strengthening of their self-esteem.

We would like to thank all the donors and future donors that have and will support the project because they are the color in the lives of these 160 children. You make possible these changes in their lives that enable them to have a better quality of life.
