Dear Friends,

Greetings from Asha Deepa School for the Blind!

With this letter, I am very happy to share with you some news and updates about the program you have been supporting. This project first appeared on Global Giving in July 28, 2009, our special thanks to Malathi, Giri, Arvind and all of you who have connected many of your friends & relatives to this project. We have received lot of support from people like you. So many, many thanks for your generous support. We have raised $ 5,505 and we still need to raise $ 14,495 to get this project fully funded.

Asha Deepa School: The school has reopened after summer vocation. By now, most the of kids are back. In between, ten more kids have been identified by our staff in the villages of Bidar & Gulbarga Districts.

Louie Braille Kala Tanda (Music Band): Open Musical Night is organized in Ganesh Miadan of Bidar city to create awareness among the general public about the troup. More than 2000 people gatherd and enjoyed. Mr.Nassimoddin Patel, President of Zilla Panchayat has inaugurated the program. District administration has invited the troupe to give an inaugural performance on the occasion of Bidar Utsav. The troup is being honored by Mr. Harsha Gupta, District Collector, Bidar. The troup has partnered with Song & Drama Division, Dept of Information & Boardcast Govt of India to create awareness through folk songs, streat drama, group songs etc in the rural villages of Bidar & Gulbarga District. More than 76 awarensess programs are conduncted in 76 villages & opproximetly 50 thousand people benefitted directly for these programs.
