Search for Common Ground will provide young people an opportunity to share their perspectives on the relationship between Islam and the West in mainstream media, with an emphasis on common ground.
Common Ground News Service provides articles to over 10,000 subscribers aimed at causing a positive shift in the tone of Islamic-Western relations by influencing how leading print media outlets across this divide present and address key issues. This project gives young people from the Arab world and the West a chance to write articles about cooperation and mutual understanding. CG News has over has had over 1000 articles reprinted in major media outlets in Israel and the Arab World.
This project will produce a monthly column dedicated to the voices of youth that will be distributed to the 10,000 subscribers and reprinted in major newspapers. Many articles will be co-written by youth from the Middle East and the US.
Through their participation in this project, young people will take a lead in promoting understanding between the Muslim World and the West. Through their leadership, they will begin to transform the way that young people see one another.
