ApproTEC will provide basic tools (like irrigation pumps) to poor people, enabling them to establish highly profitable micro-enterprises and lift their families out of poverty forever.
The Economist ranks Tanzania the world’s 2nd poorest country in the world, and the city of Mwanza, along the shores of Lake Victoria, is one of the poorest areas of Tanzania. People cannot afford the basics of life such as running water and electricity, nor can they afford to properly feed and educate their children. This project will put in place a permanent solution that will enable hundreds of families to escape their poverty forever.
Working with manufacturers in Arusha & retail shops in Mwanza, ApproTEC will create a supply chain for technologies such as the manually operated irrigation pump. We will promote the technologies & monitor their impact on farmers who purchase them.
This project will provide the people of Mwanza access to tools they can use to create new businesses. The impact of the manufacturing & retailer supply chain is far-reaching & the initial roll out will give 230 families the ability to escape poverty.
