This project provides 420 Liberian youths and 80 workforce mentors with relevant healthcare information and materials to protect themselves against infection with the Human Immune Virus.
Liberia is still striving to get back on its feet from years of civil war which brought mass destruction to its infrastructure human and material resources and the people face a greater scourge today the Human Immune Virus and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome HIV and AIDS is a critical social issue in Liberia today HIV/AIDS is an epidemic which is spreading very fast. The rate of infection in Liberia is 11% to 26% depending on the source of information
About 420 interns and 80 workforce mentors improve sexual behaviors; acquire knowledge and capacity to protect themselves against HIV infections; and accept to work with People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWAs) in a safe work environment
The project will protect 420 Liberian youth and about 80 workforce mentors against HIV infections; and reduce unsafe sexual behavior among the 420 Liberian and 100 workforce mentors targeted.
