The project seeks to ensure quality education for children in rural areas in order to create equal opportunities for all to participate in and benefit from India's economic growth.
Children in rural India do not have access to quality education. This results in high drop out rates, poor reading and math skills leading to limited employability. Isha Vidhya, an Isha Education Initiative, is committed to raise the level of education and literacy in rural India and help disadvantaged children realize their full potential.
Isha Foundation runs six schools in six taluks (counties) of Tamilnadu state. English medium computer based education, complemented by audio-visual aids and extra-curricular activities is aimed at overall development of each child.
Goal of Isha Vidhya projects is to provide high quality education in each of the six schools in rural Tamilnadu. Isha Vidhya’s combined initiative and support will empower rural children to participate in globalization.
