The Batwa Tribe of Africa is among the poorest people in the world, suffering indignities that we can’t even imagine. Considered “sub-human” by their immediate neighbors, they have NO rights. Driven out of their forest homes and forced to work as indentured servants, they barely survive. . Due to their pygmy ancestry, they continue to suffer ethnic prejudice, discrimination, violence and are essentially victims of a slow process of genocide by starvation, and general exclusion from society.
The authentic artwork of the batwa will be used in the fabrication of t-shirts, hats, watches, backpacks, purses, bags and statues this will greatly preserve the batwa culture and heritage.music and story telling will also be done
Batwa culture and mysticism, is a core part of society that needs to be preserved for generations to come, therefore, this project is a one-of-a-kind concept aiming to restore and preserve the batwa heritage.over 1200 batwa people will be empowered.
