Health Sciences Online (www.hso.info) is creating the world’s most accessible health sciences training center to address a globally alarming problem - shortage of health care professionals.
According to a 2006 WHO report,4 at least 57 countries, most of them in sub-Saharan Africa but including Bangladesh, India and Indonesia, face "crippling" public health work force shortages. 100% of donations go directly into creating and providing inexpensive, high quality certificates, courses, and degrees for health professionals in developing countries, who then treat 1000s of patients.
Health Sciences Online (www.hso.info) provides open-source, high-quality educational materials, and the expertise of an international, globally-engaged group of advisors, to train global health care providers.
Enhancing the global health workforce will improve the overall health of nations. This improvement in health will translate to improved economic conditions and political stability.
