Give street children with learning difficulties a chance to receive education at their own level. SAP wants to add practical lessons to the programme to prepare these children for job training.
Imagine: you are 13 years old, you live in the streets and most of your life you have been told you are dumb. When you were in school you couldn’t understand the lessons quickly enough. Now, you are doing odd jobs to earn money for food. SAP runs a small centre where street children with learning difficulties receive special education. We want to expand with practical lessons to prepare the children for job training. Though their level is low, they are eager to learn. With your help, they can!
Children will participate in practical assignments using elements of various professional fields. They get a ‘taste’ of the profession, and learn practical skills as well. In the process, they also practice literacy and mathematics.
Street children with learning problems will receive practical education that prepares them to learn a profession and leave the streets. At SAP, more equipment and tools for learning will be available, so that more children can benefit!
