The project seeks to improve the health of pregnant women and children by establishing a medical laboratory with ultra sound scan to provide accurate diagnosis for diseases and complicated pregnancies
Ave, a rural community in Ghana has very limited access to health care facilities. The poor health care in this region is reflected especially in a high child and maternal mortality causes by untreated malaria, malnutrition, diarrhea, anemia and complicated pregnancies. A medical lab with ultra sound scan at the Ave health station will provide accurate diagnosis of common diseases and complicated pregnancies for prompt treatment and referrals.
A Medical lab to provide accurate diagnosis of common diseases - malaria for prompt treatment and supply of treated bednets to nursing mothers will reduce malaria related deaths. Ultra sound equipment will help identify complicated pregnancy
The project will serve some 9,000 people in the Ave traditional area. The project will improve the health of the people and reduce maternal and malaria related deaths in the community through access to medical laboratory, bednets and ultra sounds.
