The project enhances the economic self-sufficiency of low-income women by supporting profitable economic activities through provision of micro-loans.This empowers women socially and economically.
Extreme vulnerability to poverty is still a challenge effecting rural women.The project will help 100 rural women in Jinja District Uganda to break the chains of dependence on men. 200 women have so far benefited out of this program. BIDE wants to take up this challenge by establishing a pro-poor facility which provides micro-loans to the marginalized to start small profitable businesses that can improve their income and attain financial autonomy.
We provide small loans and conduct training in small businesses. Follow-ups are made in which BIDE works closely with rural women on the management of their activities and their loans aiming at strengthening their livelihoods.
The project will build capacity and empower 100 rural women helping them discover and develop their potential with a view of self-help.
