Treatment center is developing with your help

<img src='http://cloud.globalgiving.org/pfil/3393/RTC_Small.jpg' alt=''style='margin: 5px;'/>

RTC (Rehabilitation Treatment Center) has been with SEDA since 2005. In 2010, the RTC has updated the patients’ residence buildings, brought in the electricity, created the clean water system, supplied with wheel chairs, medical supplies, new ceiling fans, and new tank for the sauna steamer. Every day around 10 inpatients and more than 400 outpatients have benefited from donations. It has made traditional medicine available to low income patients. The RTC and SEDA are very grateful to all donors, fans and supporters.

The next goal is to make the treatment more effective and available for more patients, which would be possible with the larger water tank. As there is a need for big amount of clean water for treatment with medical herbs, that tank is necessary for further development. Now RTC has good electricity system that makes it possible to install bigger tank. New tank with installation costs around 700 dollars and could contain up to 400 liters of water. We hope to raise enough funds by the end of the year.

RTC Redevelopment Project

<img src='http://cloud.globalgiving.org/pfil/3393/house_Small.jpg' alt='RTC Building'style='margin: 5px;'/>

RTC Building

Out at the RTC it is as busy as ever, with patients calling in from the surrounding villages to receive treatment. Due to a recent termite infestation, SEDA is supporting the construction of a new patients building for the RTC. The construction of the building is around 85% complete. The doors are finished but the painting, gutters and floor tiles still need a little work. We are also waiting on an order of beds for the patients. Once this construction is complete we are hoping to get the water treatment installed as soon as we can. We are looking for more funding to successfully install the water treatment facility, so we urge donors to continue their support in order for us to meet our deadline by the end of this year. The seasons are changing and soon it will be monsoon season which will last until late October, so there may be some delays with construction and the roads leading to the RTC may become too muddy to drive on. The electricity in the RTC is around 95% complete, after creating a new electricity supply from the main road 4km away. We were anticipating these projects to be completed in March, but due to some delays caused by problems with local builders, having to hire a new local contractor and waiting for parts to be shipped from Thailand, we estimate that the redevelopment project will be complete by the end of the year. Funds for these projects are coming from the generous donations of private donors, patient funding, microfinance programs and the RTC budget.

<img src='http://cloud.globalgiving.org/pfil/3393/wood_Small.jpg' alt='Building the RTC'style='margin: 5px;'/>

Building the RTC

Thank you for the donation!!!

SEDA has raised approximately 10% of the project fundraising. We are still urgent more donors to supports the RTC. While RTC is trying to match with GlobalGiving fund to help complete this project within next six months.

RTC is trying to solve the electricity problem how to get the pump work and while bring in the electricity to area.

At this same, the RTC is critically important in Laos because it provides free health checks to patients, as well as low cost alternative treatments to both in-patients and out-patients suffering from disease and sickness.

The RTC is now seeking funding to help reconstruct their current building which has been severely damaged by termites. At this same time we are hoping to have new water treatment equipment set up to RTC within six months.

Thank you for all of your supports and we will up date more ....

A Great Start to Fundraising

SEDA and the patients at the Rehabilitation Treatment Center would like to say a big thank you to the donors that have been supporting our project to fund a water filtration system.

So far we have raised $435, which will go towards paying for the water filtration equipment that will provide patients with clean drinking water.

SEDA is hoping to raise $5000 to pay for clean drinking water and for medical equipment. The clinic provides free health checks to people from all over Laos, and uses alternative medicine to treat in and out patients. For many people in Laos, it is the only place they can afford to receive medical attention. For some, hospitals are ill equipped and will not treat them.

Clean water is desperately needed for drinking and cooking. The donations you make will have a huge impact at the clinic.

Please support SEDA and the RTC by telling your friends and family about this cause.

SEDA would like to hear your feedback and questions about this project. If you have something to say, please email us at info@seda-laos.org.
