<img src='http://cloud.globalgiving.org/pfil/3170/LayTongKhu_Small.jpg' alt='Lay Tong Khu solar system'style='margin: 5px;'/>

Lay Tong Khu solar system

Thanks to Global Giving donors and other donors like The Good Works Insitute and McCargar Family Foundation, the Lay Ton Ku clinic was successfully equipped with solar panels in 2009. A final report is posted on this site. The solar electric system powers a vaccine refrigerator, microscope lights, operation lights, and other medical equipment.

Now, to continue the clinic electrification program, we are planning to install solar electricity in 3 new clinics, in Kay Pu, Mone, and Toungoo, in the Karen State along the Thai border, serving atotal of 9,000 people in 47 villages. These projects will be implemented in partnership with the Free Burma Rangers (FBR), a humanitarian relief organization active in many regions of Burma. The solar electric systems will power lights, microscope, laptop computer, and other medical equipment. The budget for installing solar energy electricity in these three clinics is $24,000, out of which we would like to raise $5,000 on this Global Giving site.

Thank you in advance for your support.
