<img src='http://cloud.globalgiving.org/pfil/2729/Photo_ok_Small.JPG' alt=''style='margin: 5px;'/>

The activities done from February.

In this period said above, there were prepared and done some meetings to the project << Train 100 women coaches>>.

In case of promoting women and girls to football, there was done a meeting to verify the achieved and left activities to that project.

The meeting united 25 coaches trained from four provinces and Kigali City. These ones were representative of other one hundred coaches up to now were given some basic football knowledge. In the meeting, there were discussed about the following topics:

- The challenge of less knowledge to the coaches trained in shortest time because of the budget lacked in that training. A part from here, it was decided to seek the sponsorship everywhere it can be possible so that there may be given sufficient football training to a 100 women coaches.

All of the coaches confirmed that the parents of the girls players have already known the use of sport, especially football. Let me give you some testimony of one parent. MWIZERWA Francine said << And I too, before starting to be coach of football game and know its importance and rights of my daughter in the football game, when she had gone to play football no food should be given to her because I was used to consider that as sacrilege. Then, since I was coach even thought I don’t have enough skills in coaching I am regretting for not playing football or coaching before the time>>.

- In that meeting done there was seen the number of teams has been created after starting that project: Train 100 women coaches. After that we have discovered that more than 30 teams have been created.

We managed to look for how there would be the competition between those teams to select the champions which should meet the ordinary teams then after we do evaluation of them.

Now we have the calendar demonstrating how the competition will take place. Up to now we are still waiting some sponsorship so that competition may be done.

I am requesting our beloved sponsors to continue to support our project<< Train 100 Women Coach>>.

I conclude congratulating all of those struggled to promote the Rwandan women and girls so that they may play football.

<img src='http://cloud.globalgiving.org/pfil/2729/grace_Small.JPG' alt='Training'style='margin: 5px;'/>

Training

Training of Women Coaches continued and creation of new teams started

Our dream is started to become a reality, with the purpose of training 100 Women Coaches in Rwanda with partnership of districts leaders of whole country, we continued to train other 25 women from other 5 districts of country with basic knowledge as we lack financial facility. The trained coaches started to create new women teams in their own sectors since then teams started to train two times per week.

It is our desire to continuing offering women and girls opportunity to be the good coaches and promote their football talents. This would not have been possible if you did not join us and continue to donate our project.
Now, by campaigning on a larger scale more girls in Rwanda, step by step become able to do sports and have been empowered themselves. The larger impact will be that after a history of tragedy Rwandan girls are using sports as a tool to move into a new era.

Our main objectives are to increase the number of women soccer teams and players, to have good players in different stages of age, to promote gender equity in Football and to motivate collaboration between women teams and the Government. All this will be possible if donors continue supporting us

Please let us know what you think about our project and how we can strategically attract wider support. Thank you.

So far, we are proud of the progress made, and in this view we would like to let you know that; we started with elementary training courses to benefit 25 women from the grassroot level, from 5 Districts of the Country (5 for each)

TRAINING OF 100 WOMEN COACHES IN RWANDA

The project of training of 100 Women coaches in Rwanda is at the stage of procuring some of the basic required materials. For this particular case, we can be proud of saying materials such as training balls are already in place.
A part from that, we .managed to meet beneficiaries and came to a conclusion that, training itself will done in phases given the fact that 100 women can’t be trained at the same time as expect fruitful results. Advocacy meetings with partners and local government institutions were carried out with the main purpose of mobilizing more funds and any other support. And as a result, the District authorities agreed to provide football grounds in the time of training and agreed to help us in the process of mobilization of more women to participate.
Given the lesson learnt, we will strengthen our advocacy and mobilization program to call for more support by local leaders and other sponsors, then we shall begin phase I of the training.
We are highly indebted to all of you, who continue to support our initiative/project, in one way or another and hope that your continued support will make it a success. But please let us know what you think about our project and how we can work strategically to raise more funds.

During mobilization and identification of beneficiaries, it was revealed that the project was warmly welcome by many women. They said that they are ready to play their role in social change trough sport. For the particular case of the project progress, we are very happy to let you know that, so far all training manuals have been developed and some materials were identified and ready to be used. Basing on activities so far realized and the opinions of beneficiaries, we are strongly of the view that the outcomes of this project will obviously lead to a positive social change.
Therefore, we are humbly calling up on different donors, to support us, so as to make our dream a reality. We also need your opinions, suggestions and comments on how we can work together to attract wider support, and by so doing, we will be contributing to social change of Rwandan women. We take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters, without whose support, no progress could have been made so far.

Recent Update

"Training of 100 football women coaches in Rwanda”, is a project by NYINAWUMUNTU Grace. This course aims at empowering women and girls through training in football coaching. We have so far mobilized and identified 100 women and girls aged between 20 and 30 years, from all provinces of the country, where each province shall be represented by 20 women and girls. We are strongly convinced that, this course will result into formation of more women and girls soccer teams; more specifically, existence of each team for each province, which was not the case before. This in turn will make it easy and possible to form a strong and sustainable national women soccer team. Best still, this is the road to women empowerment through sport.
We are humbly calling up on different donors, to support us, so as to make our dreams a reality. And we need your opinions, suggestions and comments on how we can work together to attract wider support, and by so doing, we will be helping 1994 Genocide affected Rwandan women to rise and to tear the walls of social paradigm. We take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters, who use to help us and without them, no progress could have been made so far.
“Yes, women too can do what men do, we really need to show the rest of the world that we too can do what men do and I am quite sure that through sport, particularly this coming training, we shall make ourselves heard and recognized. Training me is obviously a step to my personal empowerment in particular and others empowerment in general”. A statement by UWINEZA Ange, one of beneficiaries when answering to a certain journalist’s question, during mobilization phase.
