Over the last few months, activities surrounding this project have been mostly administrative in nature and while many of the details have been cemented the funding aspects are being finalized so the project may begin. One of the concerns about the project area is the semi-arid climate. WaterPartners wants to ensure that each community has a back-up plan are in place in case that water is not found during the drilling process. If the borehole is found to be dry, local technologies such as sand dams will be brought to scale to serve all of the community and be certain that none of the communities involved in the project are left without a water source. Additionally, this project will include conflict training as water for domestic consumption and livestock is a highly sought after resource that often leads to conflicts between communities.
