I got my blanket

the cold nights have come early this year and my sister was ill but she got some warm clothes and we got a big warm blanket to keep us warm and safe. Thank you for thinking about us and for your kindness. my liitle sister says thank you too!

THANK YOU By Nick Hansen - Project Director

Firstly I would like to thank you all for your wonderfull kindness in supporting this appeal. Our health team and teachers are getting ready for the winter to make sure every child or family in need receives the help they need and keep warm and safe this winter. Over the years we have been running this appeal we have distributed thousands of items of warm clothing and blankets to desperately poor families living in mud huts and on the streets. Our workers know who is in real need and we do not indulge in meaningless giveaways, we give in a thoughtfull and targeted manner

Preparing for next winter

Again the Trust would like to thank you for all of your kindness in supporting this important appeal. We are preparing for next winter by purchasing blankets and sweaters at cheaper prices. There is no doubt that this appeal saves lives every year. For example the trust distributed over 300 small warm blankets and little woollen hats to babies of desperately poor families, with a bigger one for the mother.

DIRECT HELP FOR THOSE IN NEED

Now that Winter has passed may we send our heartfelt thanks to all of you for your brilliant support. This Winter we were able to distribute 1,217 blankets and over 300 sweaters to poor families and children in need of them. This appeal will shortly finish on global giving until next year but of course we continue to buy blankets and warm clothing throughout the year when prices are cheaper for the next year. Thanks to your kindness many blankets and warm clothing have already been distributed to families and children in need. Through our community networks we can be sure that we reach the very poor and help them directly. The weather continues to be cold and foggy, imagine the plight of children with no warm clothing or even a blanket to keep warm. Thank you so much for caring

Winter Arrives

Patna, Dec 19 (IANS) At least six more people died in Bihar as the temperature dipped drastically in the last few days, officials said Friday. The death toll in the state this winter has now risen to 24.

Of the six deaths reported since Thursday, three were in East Champaran district, two in Vaishali district and one in Sheohar district.

In the state capital here, a dense fog Friday morning was followed by a cloudy sky and chilly winds.

The weather has affected the schedule of several trains and flights.

Weather department officials said Bihar would witness cold wave conditions in the coming days and the minimum temperature is likely to drop below 10 degrees Celsius.

Taking into account the weather conditions, Bihar public school and children welfare association have urged the district administrations to reschedule school hours. Most English medium schools are closing for winter vacation Saturday.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked district officials to light more bonfires and distribute blankets among the poor.

Many poor people, mostly rickshaw pullers, labourers and beggars, spend the nights under the open sky.

The 18 deaths reported earlier were in Muzaffarpur, Chapra, Madhubani, Begusarai, Gaya Patna and Darbhanga districts.
