Improve hygiene behaviors of 1875 students 6 to 15 years in Kiwafu and Nakiwogo Schools-Uganda by providing latrines and water tanks for handwashing. Result is pupil retention and quality education
In Kiwafu and Nakiwogo Primary Schools retention of pupils is affected by inadequate hygiene and sanitation facilities. The latrine: pupil ratio for Kiwafu Primary School is at 1:153. At Nakiwogo Primary School the latrine: pupil ratio is 1:161. This has led to dirty latrines, diseases, long queues, diseases and poor time management. There is lack of adequate water supplies to wash hands after using the latrine/ toilet and before eating food.
