By providing financial literacy courses to women of Maharastra and Karnataka, Mann Deshi empowers women to save money and pay for their children’s education. Women can buy books and pay school fees.
The women of rural India are often left behind by the traditional financial system. The high rate of illiteracy leads them even more into the downward spiral of poverty. Mann Deshi set up a financial literacy course shaped for the women of Maharastra and Karnataka. To complete this project, Mann Deshi initiates a new saving formula that will make it easier for poor family to pay for the education of their children.
We offer a new textbook which will support students in their financial literacy courses. We also establish a savings program that ends in June, which will allow women to save throughout the year and receive their savings at the beginning of school.
