Puspem Garden in Bogor

Government of Indonesia recently launched a new program related to the greening "5 trees for one person". This program is expected to foster public awareness of the importance of maintaining the balance of the earth with a lot of planting trees and maintaining them.

In the next year we will assist the government program (5 trees for 1 person) to socialize to people and plant the trees as much as possible in order to greening Indonesia.

For that in implementing the above, we would need a huge budget, so we still expect attention and assistance from donors to continue to help us through this reforestation program.

In 2010, we have received a budget of $ 3.243 from the donors, the budget has been used to implement reforestation programs in Indonesia, be it counseling on the importance of planting trees and maintaining them.

We thank you very much for all your attention and your help in 2011, we look forward to the donors in 2012 to continue to assist us in implementing a forestation programs in Indonesia in particular.

We have obtained a quote for plant this pentadesma butyracea trees because these trees for reforestation and also the fruit can be beneficial for oil production.

The vegetable fat extracted from the seed is in good demand from the global food and confectionery industries, if it is produced in a sustainable manner. Pentadesma fat is extracted with simple technology, is a very good cooking fat, a vegetable fat spread can be produced and can be converted to biodiesel even on a small scale.

Prof. V.K.S. Shukla (www.ifsc.dk) and Hemal De Silva have carried out extensive research on the species

Our team in Aceh has provided 250 acres of land for planting this tree. but the obstacles we face is the cost to cultivate this land is very expensive, so expect help from the donors to realize our ideals.

On October 19, GlobalGiving.org is matching at 30% all online donations up to $1,000 per donor per project! There is $100,000 available in matching funds on Oct 19. Once these matching funds are used, no more matching funds will be applied. The development of reforestation programs in Indonesia

Planting 1 billion trees program (One Man One Tree) have been socialized to community organizations and NGO's that concern with green issues in Indonesia.
Billions of trees had been planted, now the trees have aged 3 months to 2 years. We are very grateful that the trees we have planted 80% can be grown successfully, the rest die because eaten by animals and the influence of erratic weather. But this can be considered successful because the trees have grown well.

Supri one of our volunteers say the program of planting 1 billion trees have been going well, just that there are several constraints faced by officers in implementing this program, among others;
1. tree planting land itself has been turned into housing, plantations, rice fields and farm location.
2. Erratic climate changes
3. The existence of irresponsible person who is selling the trees to the company or individuals

Some of the locations that we can have up to date can not be the trees we planted because budget constraints in the program.

We hope to remedy the donors can continue to provide assistance so that the program can be implemented with the maximum.

In addition we also wish to express to the donors so that the program can implemented well though gradually.

In April, our team has done extension phase 2 extension tree planting programs "one man one tree" this is done to support government efforts in the program to plant 1 billion trees (one man one tree).

Besides, we also have provided assistance fruit tree seedlings (1 tree to 1 house). expected in the provision of seeds of this tree can grow the awareness of society to love the tree and plant it, love the environment and preserve the forest.

Climate change is happening in Indonesia is very concerned about even more than that. The heat and erratic rainfall in Indonesia make a number of areas hit by flash floods. This is certainly due to the already unstable nature. Because it is necessary awareness to all parties to keep our earth. And one way to stabilize the earth is a lot of planting trees.

Our target is to plant a million trees, so to support this effort we call upon donors to continue to assist so that this program can be maximized.

About 10 kilometers near from mount merapi

One of the impacts due to the eruption of Mount Merapi a few months ago was almost all the trees in about 20 kilometers of Mount Merapi were charred due to being hit with the hot ash from Mount Merapi, so that the dry conditions there are no longer any trees, lush green forests that have now become dry .
This condition makes us to make the greening program in the vicinity of Mount Merapi through our reforestation project on GlobalGiving.
Wikno one of the refugees living in refugee barracks Argo Mulyo village Cangkringan Sleman said that it would be very useful if the location of Mount Merapi was the location of the greening.
The expectation to the donors for the implementation of our programs can help this.

Let's save our earth from global warming (one man one tree) Climate change to hit our planet makes a lot of natural disasters occur where due to the balance of our planet is not normal. Millions of trees felled each year just for the benefit of wealthy business people. Which can lead to floods appeal, landslides and an increasingly hot air quality. Only one way to prevent it is to plant as many trees as possible. Therefore, let's continue to support this program to save our planet. Since the commencement of this tree planting program, we have planted over 100,000 trees which we planted either directly and we give to residents to plant a decent place for planting trees. Generally the trees that we planted it can grow well because of the weather in Indonesia in general is still the rainy season, so no need to watered every day. The limited budget that we get so few programs can not we carry out are like; 1. Planting of mangrove trees in coastal marine Java 2. Replication of the project to other areas We continue to expect help from the donors so that the program can continue.

The Continuation of tree planting 'one man one tree. "

Since the commencement of this tree-planting program in the year 2008, we have planted more than 100 thousand trees scattered in several places in west Java. Planting is done with some way; 1. direct planting in areas suitable for planting trees, 2. Provision of fruit trees seedlings to land owners and then jointly conducted a tree planting, 3. Giving tree seeds fruit "one-man one-tree" to be planted in front of their homes or orchards or a decent place for planting trees.

In addition to the above activities we also assist the Government to conduct a tree planting extension of "one man one tree".

Some activities in this program will be carried forward, among others; 1. Planting of mangrove trees in coastal marine of Java 2. Replication of the project to other areas. Budget constraints in this project so that some of our programs still cannot be executed so that these project were not fully implemented as we all hope.

The development of green program

After three months of GlobalGiving staff visited several locations of this program, the trees we have planted have entered the age of between seven to nine months. The trees that we planted it can grow well because generally the weather in Indonesia is still the rainy season.

The total number of trees we have planted so far has reached 20,000 with various types such fruit tree, mahogany trees and etc.

Dedi one of our volunteers said that local people hope that this program is expected to be continued so that the planting of trees, especially fruit trees can continue to be reproduced as later results can be utilized by local communities.

Budget constraints in this project so that the planting of trees is very limited but still an empty location is ready to be planted with various kinds of trees. Therefore we invite to the donors to continue to provide assistance so that this program can be continued.

On 17 until 20 March 2010, GlobalGiving staff "Bill Brower" has visited the location of our Green projects in several locations in Bogor, Padalarang and Bandung . Until now we have a total trees planting to reach 15.000 trees scattered in several locations in west Java. This trees age ranges of up to 6 months. expected that trees have been planted, 3 to 5 years ahead is huge. Rainy season like now this trees would be very easy to grow because of rain falls every day, so for us do not actually need attention. Thank you so much we wish for all your help and attention to our program. We continue to hope for your help so that this program can continue and our goal to plant one million trees could be realized.

Project Title: Trees Cultivation to Lessen Impact Global Warming By Andi Asriadi Rauf

Summary

Funds provided by the Global Giving donors $ 1461.25 and using to bought 690 trees; 150 mango trees, 150 nephelium tree (lychee) seeds, 100 teak tree seeds, 100 guava trees, 100 starfruit and 90 trees mahogany on January 16, 2010. Next the tree we planted together with residents in several locations in West Java includes tree planting in front their houses.

Approximately 15 people to be volunteers in planting these trees because they thought this program very useful, because the trees planted to produce fruit that can be sold to meet household needs.

Meanwhile, star fruit trees, and guava trees planted in the garden of stone people, and is expected in one year was fruitful, and the results can be sold in the market to meet the needs of the family. To date a total of trees we have planted 1662 trees are scattered in west Java province. So that this program will continue to planting trees mangrove in the coastal sea of Java in Sukabumi and your support always needed so that our target of planting 1 million trees can be realized.

Haris local community say, "Contributions and tree planting is very useful for people, because in addition to making the environment cool and beautiful, also provide lessons for local people to love their environment, and productive trees will help other people to meet the needs of families, because the fruit is very easy to sell on the market. This program “One Man One Tree” created to achieve our target of planting one million trees, especially in Indonesia. So that from Indonesia we planned Movement to plant trees “One Man One Trees”. Climate change is affecting our earth is a big issue for the survival of all living beings on this earth, One way to address climate change impacts on this earth is to plant as many trees as possible.

Therefore next PUSPEM program is to support government efforts to plant trees "one man one tree". In this program there are 3 things we would do; 1. PUSPEM will help the Indonesian government to disseminate information about the program "one man one tree" to the community. 2. Project update Trees Cultivation to lessen impact Global Warming

Global warming hit the earth one more factor for the forest destroyed by humans. This tree-planting program designed to re-green the forest by planting trees as much as possible because it can withstand the heat of the earth due to the effects of global warming.

Constraints we found in the location of the target program is some forest areas have become community property, this location is then used as productive land as plantations and paddy fields. In addition some of these locations are sold to companies and then used as a location for housing. This in turn affects the felling huge trees to later become housing estates or locations. But the efforts we have done is to provide information not to be too damaging forests and attention and provide space for planting locations. In addition to the above constraints, other constraints are the budget constraints in this program so that no more trees can be planted.

We hope is to GlobalGiving and donors is to continue to provide funding support so that our goal to plant one million trees buffer materialize

Indonesia stricken Dry season likely will eat time sufficiently long (estimate BMG). That thing of course will result long enough heat. At this condition resident somewhere require clean water for drink, protection from sun heat. So that Puspem notes several things that has been conducted in order to help society to chase sun heat that very burn that: (i) Counseling to society to the importance care of plantation environment; (ii) Giving of acacia tree that can be planted society in front of house each; (iii) Trees Cultivation that assumed can become protector from sun heat; (iv) Maintenance apologize for can grow properly. And if that above will succeed some years to the fore Indonesia can be most free or ducked out its broiling sun.

Output 1. Help society finish environment problem that faced 2. Help society to care of environment properly until light/ray sun slowly can be obviated 3. Help society to engreen environment and society plantation 4. Helped society to improved its earnings pass by result plantation

Follow-up Summer is dry season that usually result the increasing of sun broiling. In consequence,, program that recently executed Puspem is assumed by local society very help in order to care of environment in order to remain to calm also help to improve local society earnings. In consequence, we are being hoped support from GlobalGiving and the donors to continue give support until this program can continue in order to overcome Global Warming impact.

Plants Maintenance for reboisation

Phase Program 1 has planted tree more than 550 trees from kinds of tree seed. At phase 2th this program that will be conducted is plants maintenance that has been planted one month ago. Generally weather in Indonesia has entered summer or dry season, where rain seldom downwardness until trees that has been planted must paid attention in order not to die, this Maintenance will for 6 month to the fore. Expected after 6 month tree seeds that have been planted already can grow by itself. Plants Maintenance that will be conducted is by sprinkle tree seed that has been planted everyday. Mr Budiman one of the local society that also volunteer in this program tell that this program of trees cultivation will succeed if we are all serious concerned about tree seed that has been planted with maintain it, at least everyday that plants are must sprinkled water in order not to die. So that we still hope the donors to continue give expense aid in order to program of trees cultivation can still going on till can plant more than 1,000,000 trees in all region in Indonesia expecially in West Java.

THE IMPORTANCE of TREES CULTIVATION To CHASE GLOBAL WARMING

Program of trees cultivation that has been executed in Bogor draw attentions for farmer society, especially owner society wide farm but currently its farm no advantage or empty. As for performed within strategy project execution, for example : (1) Counseling about the importance of trees cultivation to care of native heat or global warming ; (2) Visit local society for project that will be executed; (3) Buy seed in accordance with society request, like, teak; core tree, nephelium tree, mango tree, tree Acacia, that as [the] protector from sun heat; (4) Trees Maintenance that delivered fully to society; (5) Monitoring and evaluation about result of project execution for implementation later with counseling. Mr. Budiman one of the citizen greets good program that executed PUSPEM foundation and tell that currently much forests become arid consequence of tree hewing in wild by irresponsible peoples hence must will conduct trees cultivation and observation tight until until no more tree hewing wild, in other hand according to Mr Budiman that society are must entangled to maintain and care of forest continuity and at the same time can help government to engreen forest also arrest/detain slowly heat the sun that result earth becomes baking hot. Program of trees cultivation to lessen impact of global warming in Bogor

This Program will be executed in sub-province Bogor and municipality Bogor, west Java. Location Determination bases survey that conducted by team of Puspem, that Bogor is city that have too much precipitation. So that Bogor called here “rain city”.

Flood cause in Jakarta is caused for example: 1. Because water consignment that overflowed from Bogor when rain fall passed by river ciliwung, this condition are caused by Bogor land higher than Jakarta

2. Forest Condition in Bogor already the less, this condition are caused to the number of forest that has became housing area.

Target in general from this program is the; 1. Care of and preserve forest in Bogor region 2. Prevent the happening of flood, slide and erosion 3. Give counseling to society to care of and preserve forest.

With implementation this program is later expected can lessen impact from Global Warming.

This reboisation Program since published in Global Giving site some last month till now have not yet get funds until this program have not yet can implemented.

Condition Forest in Global Warming Era In Bogor, West Java

Globat warming are marked with temperature go up come near 0,5% in one century last. This Improvement can have on drastic climate change. Gases and glasshouse that growing overflow and growing strong its light infra red on the surface of earth, speed up global warming, like air pollution, particle existence or gas in atmosphere that indigenous human activity to dangerous for animal life and flora.

That above very felt in Indonesia consequence to the number of forest depilatory that conducted by people irresponsible. For example in Bogor, that before known as rain area or area to chill, now weather has been referred has turned into baking hot consequence to the number of forest that before can filter heat becomes to chill.
