More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesMozambique is one of the world's poorest countries. No clean water facilities exist in the project area which relies on agriculture for sustenance. Matola Gare is 15 long km from the nearest town with the nearest water source (well) 10km away. For older people particularly this seriously challenges their access to water given difficulties of mobility and strength. AMAI's work will directly benefit 300 people in a wider community of 3000. ActivitiesOur project will build 1 new well while repairing 3 others providing access to water while offering training in water purification systems and maintenance. Provision of farming tools and seeds means more nutritious food for families.
