Mission

To make real the idea of society consisting of free and equal citizens who are able to come together & solve the problems that affect them in their particular contexts through - Creation of platforms for people to come together & participate in development processes; Equipping village groups & leaders with skills & resources to respond to their own needs; &, Ensuring that members of village communities are able to interact with, & access benefits from government & non-government agencies.

Programs

Seva Mandir works through a triangular strategy based on strengthening sustainable livelihoods, building people’s capabilities, and empowering village institutions. Seva Mandir’s work spans village institutions, natural resource management, income-generation activities, health, education, women’s empowerment, and child development. At the village level, democratic village institutions are formed, which are responsible for managing all aspects of local development. (469)

Shailendra has Graduate in Agriculture & Masters’ in animal science. He's been associated with Natural Resource Development programs for past 15 years. His experience involves working to strengthen livelihood contribution of farming systems, horticulture, Organic agriculture, plant protection & agriculture research. He's played a key role in rollout of the Farmer Partipatory Research Initiative.
