Mission

The mission of East Meets West Foundation (EMW) is to partner with the people of Vietnam to improve their health, education, and economic conditions in an effort to eradicate poverty and to help them achieve self-sufficiency.

An Giang/Dong Thap Provinces Anti-Trafficking program (ADAPT), Compassion Homes, School Construction, Clean Water & Sanitation, Dental Clinic, Operation Healthy Heart, Medical Relief, Scholarship to Enhance Learning & Literacy (SPELL), Support Network for People with Disabilities, Breath of Life (continuous positive air pressure machine program), and Village of Hope and Tien Phuoc Orphanages

Personnel Overview

Rick McGowan - Clean Water Consultant
Managed numerous development projects for World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Danida, United Nations Development Program (UNDP), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and international/local NGOs. Twenty-seven years of international experience in 29 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, and seven years of domestic engineering design and construction.

Vo Thi Hien - Deputy Program Manager, Clean Water and Sanitation
Lead community development projects for various organizations such as World Vision, Duy Tan Open University, and East Meets West. Currently works in implementation and management of the Global Partnership for Output Based Aid and World Bank-funded Clean Water Program in five Central provinces (2008 – 2010). Is also national coordinator for EMW's Early Childhood Care & Education program.
