Javelin provides access to Internet educational resources/scanned textbooks to secondary schools in Ghana. On-line resources are mirrored onto local servers in the school and updated by slower radios.
Javelin addresses the problem of lack of access to on-line educational resources for students in Africa. Project would offer first time access to 36,000 students in 30 secondary schools in Ghana for free. Access to educational Internet websites, e-mail and scanned textbooks previously unavailable enhances learning and access to information for both students and teachers.
1.We store educational websites onto the Javelin server 2.Scan textbooks students require onto the server 3.Install the server in the school 4.Install UHF radio for website updates and email delivery 5.Train trainers in the school on Javelin usage
The project will grant 36,000 students access to on-line educational resources, including Internet websites and scanned textbooks, to enhance teaching and learning which will improve quality of education and increase the life choices of students.
