The project seeks to reach out to an estimated 3,000 high-risk and vulnerable people who are unable to access health facilities to know their HIV status and thus seek treatment and social care.
The campaign will use mobile caravans to reach out to otherwise unreachable populations in rural areas and other high-risk urban settings. Clients will be tested for HIV and referred to health institutions where they will receive further treatment. GEMINI will then establish Home-Based care models that will offer nursing, clinical and psychosocial support to HIV+ persons
We will test clients for HIV through mobile clinics and also provide post-test services e.g. antiretroviral drugs, home-based care and psychosocial support
The project will enable 3,000 people to know their HIV status and facilitate their access to treatment, home-based care and psychosocial support, facilitate training of 50 health workers on Home-Based care and formation of 12 social support groups
