Mission

The mission of Our Place is to provide a self-sustaning, caring environment within a family structure for people infected and affected by HIV-AIDS. Our Place provides a "home to come to" for those people who have been abandoned because of the stigma and the socio-economic consequences of the AIDS pandemic in South Africa. Our place nurtures the sense of worth and purpose of people living with AIDS by empowering them to be part of socieity and positive role models in their communities.

Programs

Our Place runs a hospice in the city of Bloemfontein, which provides a home for approximately 30 residents and functions as a community center offering free counseling, advocacy, meals, and transportation to health facilities. It also started a foster home and nursery school in the village of Mvezo providing free shelter for 8 children, free instruction and free meals to -- community members, and a basic income for 3 care givers.
