We provide participatory occupational health and safety training programs to Southern Chinese migrant workers in order to increase health and safety awareness and reduce work-related injuries.
Occupational health & safety (OHS) is one of the key issues encountered by migrant workers working in the cities of Southern China. The lack of education & training increases the risk of the workers in suffering from work accidents & occupational disease. By producing education materials, providing participatory OHS training and involving workers in improving their work environment, workers will be able to learn more to secure their health at work.
We will produce education materials on OHS & distribute to workers. This will help increase the awareness of OHS issues in some high risk industries. We will also advocate workers to participate in OHS training & improvement.
The project will educate 2,000 migrant workers & 60 workers' representatives so as to increase their knowledge & awareness of occupational health.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
