Visitors have contributed a small but significant income for the village of Andavadoaka and the fund has enabled the community to invest in local infrastructure and support needy students with scholarships to attend the local Catholic Mission school. In October 2008 Blue Ventures (www.blueventures.org) will make a donation to the community fund of $20,000 that will finance the construction of the Eco-Lodge restaurant, kitchen, community meeting hall and Eco-Lodge utilities. The fund is seeking further funding from donors to finance the construction of the tourist bungalows. A basic campsite has been built and income is being generated for community projects from tourists staying on the site.
