Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Only 24 out of 600 Lycées (government high schools) in the country have been equipped by the government. 95% of private establishments do not even own a personal computer. 97% of teachers do not have any computer skills. 90% of students graduate from high school without ever having seen or touched a computer in the classroom, in an economy where basic computer literacy is a prerequisite for all white-collar employment.

Activities

Started in 2002, IEARN-SchoolNet-Cameroon Projects now reach 6,000 children each year with facts about health such as: “It’s Your Choice–A Vacation With or Without AIDS,” and encourages computer literacy.
