Students "Learn Locally, Impact Globally". Children change lives by getting access to facts, not fiction, about how deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria are spread and prevented.
Students share information with teachers and other students online, covering malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS education awareness and prevention projects in their classrooms. Classrooms need computers, connectivity and materials. With minimal funding, each educator has the power to reach hundreds of students each year with a life-saving message. Botswana has a high prevalence of TB, HIV/AIDS and malaria.
Our projects reach 300 children each year with facts about: HIV/AIDS: Beyond my Own Backyard; Cultural Beliefs That Perpetuate HIV/AIDS; Eradication of Malaria; Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger (covering all health issues).
Students not only are empowered to protect themselves and teach in their community, but they also acquire job-related computer literacy and other science skills.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
