Pengdwende helps children that are fatherless and/or motherless to attend a free primary school.
Many Burkinabe parents would like their children to go to school, but the cost of education (the education fee, school stationary, clothes, and nourishment) often becomes a burden on the family. The burden becomes heavier when a family also needs to foster a dependent fatherless or motherless child. This explains why many children have had to quit school very early and are now illiterate.
This project covers 3 years of education fees, including school supplies, two school outfits, and a nutritious meal every school day at Wend-Kouni public school in Sabou.
Many orphaned children will be able to attend school through this project. After each school term, Pengwendé will evaluate each sponsored child, and will document the project’s progress on the website and through emails
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
