Solar light : Power to people
India
Microfinance
This project aims to replace the usage of kerosene lamps with solar lighting devices to households in a remote village called Pamohi, located in the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam, India. In this under electrified village, the villagers use kerosene or candles as source of energy for lighting. The solar lighting device will provide better illumination and kerosene smoke free indoor environment thereby enhancing the productivity and quality of the villagers, particularly children.
