Peer education for youth with diabetes in the DR
Dominican Republic
Health
Using a peer to peer education model, AYUDA educates and empowers children with type 1 diabetes to better manage their condition and lead healthier and happier lives. For a child with diabetes 'a lack of education is just as dangerous a lack of insulin'. AYUDA works with local diabetes communities to help improve access to diabetes education and resources which otherwise would not be available.
