Make Motherhood Safe for Tanzanian Women

Help to build, equip, and operate a new maternity hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where maternal mortality rates are among the highest in the world. Dar's overcrowded urban system causes women to share beds and even settle on the floor to give birth at existing care facilities. The new Baobab Maternity Hospital will provide quality maternity care - including emergency services - regardless of a woman's ability to pay, and guarantee each woman her own bed during her childbirth.
