An Entrepreneur uses his POWERCycle, Odisha, India

Mounted on a simple, locally made, wooden frame the NURU POWERCycle produces enough energy in just 20 minutes of easy pedaling to charge 5 portable, LED NURUlights at once, with each light lasting up to 30 hours on a full recharge! By charging a small fee for each recharge from his customers, Sukari Krisha Rao (above), can now earn in a day, what he previously earned in a week, while providing essential light recharging services to households spread across 14 villages and hamlets that previously relied on kerosene lamps for the majority of their lighting needs.
