A helping hand in the kitchen

A young Haitian girl cooks a meal over two Zanmi Pye Bwa ("Friend of the Trees") clean cookstoves in the Delmas 60 Tent Camp in Port-au-Prince. The Zanmi Pye Bwa, designed by Trees, Water & People and International Lifeline Fund, reduces a family's daily fuel costs by 40 percent. The cookstove is made locally by talented Haitian tinsmiths using local materials.
