Because bednets are insecticide treated, one bednet protects the three children under the net and reduces the liklihood mosquitoes will enter the home and bite anyone else. When bednets are heavily used in one area, malaria transmission is reduced by 93%. This happens because as the number of malaria cases decreases, so do the number of mosquitoe carriers.
