WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT With trauma season in full swing and no animal being turned away, we are urgently seeking your support to help with the cost of treatment. The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, does not receive ongoing government funding. Patients rely heavily on the generosity of the public to help fund vital care so may return them to the wild one day. Ten thousand dollars will allow us to buy ONE years worth of soy based baby formula to feed sick koalas.
With more than 52,000 patients treated since we opened our doors 10 years ago, we could have up to 30 different species are admitted to the hospital daily. Trauma season will increase our phone calls from 100 per week to 100 phone calls a day. On average we treat around 70 koalas per month. Approximately 70% of patients are victims of car accidents or domestic pet attacks
Increase funding during this busy time to ensure all wildlife will receive the care necessary for recovery.
This will enable us to purchase vital supplies and equipment that will enable us to give the best possible veterinary care to the patients we treat. The ultimate goal for each of these patients is release back to the wild and this project will enable us do this.
