Most tech people, especially in Vietnam, are shy and inactive because they have to work on a computer most of the time. Quoc Anh and his team of young innovators want to create a series of 12 meet-ups in Ho Chi Minh for "Tech-Knights" to allow tech savvy young people to come together to make new friends and solve tech-related problems.
The sometimes isolating nature of technical work can lead to a lack of creativity and innovation in the field unless collaboration and conversation become part of the sector. There is a need in Vietnam to build community amongst individuals with technical skills so that new ideas surface and real innovation happens.
We create a playground called TechTuesday, which is a series of coffee-style events for tech people. TechTuesday has no speakers like other tech events in Vietnam, but is more like a workshop and networking event combined. "Tech-Knights" come to meet new friends, and share their tech challenge with organizers. The community then votes for the challenges they would like to solve at the event. Participants meet new people to exchange experiences and have a playground to be more creative.
TechTuesday will engage over 1000 young tech savvy individuals. This will result in supporting start-up and established tech businesses in producing better and more innovative products. The long-term impact and vision of TechTuesday is that it will connect passionate and talented tech people to apply technology to solve social problems such as education, traffic and quality of life and help our country improve.
